MAY BANK HOLIDAY 2023
Options from Friday 28th-SUNDAY 30th APRIL
We seem to have a tradition. Each May Bank Holiday we’re not able to use Saxon Hall to meet – so we go spend time together in a field in Cambridgeshire! It’s a mixture of camping, games, food and fun, we would love those who are able to join us to come along. Here’s the basic info:
When
Friday 28th Sunday 30th April
You can stay for both nights, just the Saturday night or come along Saturday for the day only.
Cost
£30/pitch/night (no electric hookup)
£36/pitch/night (with electric hookup)
Saturday daytime only (£10/car – share a lift!)
We need a 50% deposit up front to secure your pitch by 31st March!
COSTS
2-night: Friday - Sunday
Friday 28th – Sunday 30th April.
Cost: £60/non-electric or £72/electric hook-up pitch.
1-night: SATURDAY - SUNDAY
Join us on Saturday 29th April daytime, overnight into Sunday 30th April.
Cost: £30/non-electric or £36/electric hook-up pitch.
Saturday Only
If you would rather not camp, you can just join us on the Saturday. There will be a fee to pay directly to the camp site on the day (we think this is typically £10/car, so we advise sharing a lift! It feels better to say £2/per person!)
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
CAMPING
Book and pay your deposit with the church to ensure your pitch is part of our ‘group’ on site.
CARAVAN*
The site can only accommodate 5 caravans at any one time. You can book this via the link below.
Pitches are first-come first-served, but if you’re able to stay in alternative accommodation, that may help someone else!
*We will be making the ‘group booking’ as a church on 31st March, so it’s possibly some of the caravan pitches will have been taken by other users. We’ll get in touch if this is the case.
Apartment
The campsite has a few on-site apartments. Please book these directly with Summerfield Campsite. But this means if you’re unable to camp but want to join in the fun, there’s an option to stay.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
THE SCHEDULE
The schedule is pretty relaxed! Pitch up your tent, pull up a chair, have a kickabout, make a cuppa, wander the countryside… its about making some memories together in the quiet of the countryside!
FOOD
You will need to bring your own food, drinks, washing up stuff etc. If you don’t have all the gear for camping, let us know! We are sure you can borrow some!
GOT EXTRAS?
Got a gazebo? Need to bring 2 cars? Want to get more firewood? Here are the 2023 tariff prices as we’ve been provided them by the campsite.
MORE THAN 3 KIDs?
There is a £2 supplement-per-child per-night for thode with more than 3 children, payable directly to the site.
PETS
Dogs are allowed to join us, but they must be kept on a lead and quiet. The camp site is on a working farm, and has a strict policy.

Under 18s are more than welcome! Though, they must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. We are not ‘taking responsibility’ for them.

We’ll have a collective campfire on Saturday night, and you’re more than welcome to bring stoves, BBQs etc – please note, disposable BBQs are not allowed, you bringing your own firewood on site is prohibited.

Be Prepared
Temperatures in April/May can be unpredictable, and it can get cold overnight.
We advise bringing sleeping bags, roll mats (at least) and warm clothes to wear, as well as suitable waterprrof clothing.
If you need help setting up your tent, there will be plenty of help on-hand!
