A Vision for 2027
As a church community we want to follow the invitation of the Lord to us with obedience and faith. We sense God asking SEVEN specific things of us in a season up and to the end of 2027.
Over the early months of 2025, our leadership began seeking the Lord for the next season, to see what God was already up to, and the invitations he was extending to us. So as we shared vision in Autumn 2025, we want to start with ‘7 key things for 2027’ – all detailed below.
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.”
Isaiah 54:2-3

We want to partner with other local churches to see a Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre come to our region, so it can be a significant asset for the Kingdom in our communities, both for our church, but for all churches around us.
We take seriously the call to raise disciples from the next generation. We’re blessed to have a strong youth group, brilliant connection to local schools and strong partnerships with local organisations like Souster Youth. Our hope is to employ a part-time youth pastor (16-20hrs/wk) to strengthen our work.
We’d love to add to our team an individual who is passionate about helping our parents raise disciples from a young age – someone who loves to wrestle with how to share the Scriptures and Jesus’ invitation to play our part in the Kingdom to our 3-11 year olds by providing resources for our wonderful Kids’ teams. We also think there is scope to reach out to local communities over time. Our hope is that we could recruit someone to a 10hr/wk role to begin with.
Liz Harris is going to step this vital voluntary role for us. As we are stretched pastorally, it has become more difficult to engage newcomers in meaningful ways. Liz will be giving special attention to those who are new – hosting our Welcome to Church event, and being a go-to for those who are considering joining us.
We recognise that the world is an increasingly complex place to raise children, especially around some of the more difficult issues of identy and sexuality. In Spring 2026, we’re going to run a ‘Raising Confident Kids’ course for parents – but moreso, for anyone who plays a part in raising our kids.
We want to provide a discipleship year for those aged 18-24 – something that is meaningful, adds value and exposes them to ministry. Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland have prepared excellent content to help this, and also provide an annual residential – whilst on the ground we invest in those who have given the Lord a year of their lives.
Our desire has always been to plant-out Bible-doing, Jesus-following, Spirit-filled communities of the Kingdom around the Nene Valley – especially in places that are seeing churches close their doors. We think now is the time to start the conversation and DREAM BIG as we explore the invitation from the Lord to multiply ourselves TWICE by the end of 2027.

Get equipped. Explore Calling.
Journey with others.
As we explore multiplying, we want to train and equip people to lead – whether that’s a small group, a ministry, perhaps you’re a leader in the workplace, or feel a call to planting. Essentials is an excellent first step. Join us in person or on Zoom.
Starts Thursday 6th November
SUNDAY 9TH NOVEMBER

To employ a Youth Pastor (16hrs) and Kids Co-ordinator (10hrs), we need to raise £25,000. This will enable us to pay them and set them up with laptop, phone and essentials for their roles.
On Sunday 9th November we’re going to take an offering to receive gifts toward this – but also pledges of smaller, regular amounts over the coming months and years.
A giving church community can achieve tremendous things. Our church is currently made up of roughly 95 households. If each of these households gave an extra £21.93/mo for 1 year, we would have raised the full £25,000.
Some of us cannot afford to give this. So please don’t.
Others of us can afford to give a little more.
Our request is simply that you consider your contribution prayerfully, with wisdom and cheerfulness (2 Corinthians 9:7).
