As we shared vision for ‘7 things’ for the next season, to trust the Lord and ‘enlarge the place of our tent’ and ‘spread out to the right and to the left’ (Isaiah 54), we felt challenged to invest in the next generations by taking on two members of staff to focus on them:
Youth Pastor
16hrs/wk
This is a pastoral role, engaging both with young people in our church family and the wider community. The role is wide reaching: helping disciple our own young people by engaging and equipping a team of volunteers, running our Youth Drop-In, working closely with Souster Youth to support local schools and getting our youth to DTI in the summer.
Kids Co-ordinator
10hrs/wk
This role is less about being a ‘kids pastor’ (though there will be plenty of engaging with our 3-11 year olds!), and more about resourcing and empowering our wonderful army of Kids’ Ministry volunteers. We also hope the role will help us engage local families well in new and innovative ways alongside programs like Dot to Tot and TLG.
What are we trying to raise?
We want to raise £25,000.
This will raise funds for salaries, and setting up these new staff with their essentials – laptops, mobile phone, training etc.
£25k feels like a lot. But a generous church working together can do amazing things.
Did you know we are roughly 95 households as a church family? If each of those households gave £21.93 per month for 1 year, we would raise the full £25,000.
– – –
However.
Some of our households cannot afford to give £21.93 per month. Nor should they. This offering is ‘over and above’ regular giving.
Others of us are in a position to give more than £21.93 a month and not notice the money go out – so is the Lord inviting you to give more?
Or, perhaps you would rather just give a one-off gift. No problem.
Our simple request?
To give prayerfully.
How to give
A one-off gift
Make a one-off gift using any of the methods below. Please reference and cheques with ‘7-27’ or similar on the back.
You won’t need to ‘make a pledge’ for a one-off gift.
Pledge/regular donation
We’ll have paper Pledge forms you can fill out to let us know you’ll be making regular donations in the coming months – simply place these in the offering bowls. You can also set up a Pledge in ChurchSuite (see ‘MyGiving’ – or our ChurchSuite guide below).
If it’s helpful you can set up regular payments in ChurchSuite by standing order and card.

CASH/CHEQUE
On Sundays 9th and 16th November we’ll make our offering bowls available additionally to our regular offering to receive cash and cheque donations specifically for the 7^27 vision items.
If making a pledge by cash, please ensure future cash donations are in envelopes marked ‘727’ in our regular offering, so we know to allocate these funds correctly. We typically have envelopes available on our welcome desk if needed.
Are you a UK Taxpayer?
Whichever method you use, if you are a UK taxpayer don’t forget to register for Gift Aid. This entitles Nene Valley Vineyard to claim the tax back that you have paid on your donation – that’s currently equivalent to 25p in every pound, so your money will go even further.
Are you a higher-rate tax payer?
You can claim back the difference between the tax you’ve paid on the donation and what the charity got back when you fill in your Self Assessment tax return. More info >>
Giving FAQs
If you are a UK Taxpayer, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate from the UK Government at no cost to yourself or us. e.g. if you donated £200 (by monthly pledge or in full), we can claim £50 from the government, meaning your donation has a full value of £250.
If you already give to the church via Standing Order, then yes please. It helps us make sure that money given go to where it is intended to be given.
Our preference is electronic banking – but we want you to give however you feel most comfortable.
The plus side of electronic banking is that we receive the full amount donated – whereas for all card transactions 1.5% of the amount given + 20p are given to Stripe, our payment gateway. For example, if you donated £20/mo by card over 12 months, we would receive £194.60.
Cash/Cheque giving also ensure we receive the full amount, but takes up a little time in administration to process. But if you’re most comfortable giving my cash, please carry on doing so!
